A reply letter to a pen friend

Dear Jenny,

Hello. How are you? I am very happy to get your letter. I am eleven years old, too. I live in a modern city. Hong Kong is one of the most modern cities in China. There are lots of interesting places here. Have you visited Hong Kong before? I think you will love it. I am glad to be your first pen friend. I am going to tell you something about myself.

I am an active girl but I have joined some of the classes at the Youth Club in Fanling Community Centre. It is near my home, so I go there on foot. There are lots of classes. I have joined a pottery class, a Putonghua class and a Chinese painting class. Some are interesting and some are boring. I think pottery is more interesting than Putonghua. My Mum knows that my Putonghua is bad, so she makes me join the Putonghua class. I don’t like Putonghua. I hate it. I think Chinese painting is very difficult for me. I don’t like it, too.

I study at Buddhist Wisdom Primary School in Sheung Shui. It is a Buddhist school. Our school is very modern. We can learn English everywhere. I am in Class 5D. The classmates are kinds and helpful. There are lots of professional teachers. They are not too strict with us. They are open-minded. I have a lot of friends in this school e.g., Ann, Yummy and Kitty. They are all very friendly. Now, I have a new friend ― you.

I know that you want to be a social worker when you grow up. You must be a good listener. I hope you will be a wonderful social worker. Do you want to know what I want to be? Let me tell you now.

I want to be a doctor when I grow up. I want to help sick people to feel better. I can earn a lot of money. I work for money. I need to read more books. I must work hard. I will study medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I will be a professional doctor one day. Can you give me some suggestions about it?

I have a father, a mother, a brother and a sister. I live with my family in Fanling. I live in an apartment in a high-rise building. I am the youngest child in my family. I have a perfect family life.

I have told you something about myself. I want to know more about you. Can you tell me more about your family? Remember to write a letter back to me soon.

Goodbye!

Much Love,
Yuki
